Kiran Fulton has spent over twenty years working as a producer, director and media strategist — across television, live events, corporate films, educational content and community projects. A graduate of the New York Film Academy, she has worked with schools, hospitals, charities and broadcasters in the UK, the United States, Dubai and Pakistan.

For a long time, the work was primarily about the finished product: the film, the campaign, the broadcast. Over time, what Kiran found herself increasingly drawn to was the process — and specifically, what happened to people when they were taught to engage with that process themselves.

That shift is what now defines her work. She brings a working professional’s understanding of film and media into workshop settings, giving students access to the kind of knowledge that usually only arrives after years in the industry. What does it mean to make a creative decision? How do you direct someone who has never been on camera? Why does this cut work and that one doesn’t?

Alongside her student programmes, Kiran runs AI and digital confidence sessions for older adults — applying the same instinct she brings to filmmaking workshops: strip out the jargon, focus on what is actually useful, and create a space where people feel safe to try things and ask anything.

She is based in Wirral and delivers workshops across Merseyside, Cheshire and Manchester. She also delivers youth filmmaking and journalism programmes remotely with RARE Learning in Texas, USA.
